Chamonix is a fantastic summer holiday destination and is just as popular in the summer as the winter, with people coming to enjoy the hiking, mountain biking, paragliding and the climbing or just to take in the breathtaking views.
The Aiguille du Midi cable car which has amazing views across to Mont Blanc is the 2nd most popular tourist attraction in France.
Chamonix is a mecca for summer activity enthusiasts, there is the opportunity to climb Mont Blanc or try out climbing for the first time either outdoor or inside. There is white water rafting and other adrenaline fuelled sports to enjoy.
The valley also has over 300km of hiking trails at various altitudes; the scenery varies from forest trails to panoramas of the beautiful mountains. Chamonix also offers a large number of mountain bike trails which vary in length from 7km - 30km.
Added to this are an 18 hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, a leisure centre with tennis courts, an ice rink and a swimming pool. In short there is something for everyone.
With its situation in the valley, Chalet La Moraine is bathed in summer sunshine all day. The large balcony faces south and is a wonderful setting for lazy lunches or long suppers. The BBQ is also a great excuse for alfresco dining.
